The Party Thai

My daughter is turning sixteen and I was looking for some groovy ideas for her party. I was told by my friend that a good place for accessories was online where she got the supplies for her daughters party. So, I decided to check it out. It was surprising to find so many ideas for party supplies for the tables and little gifts. I found a lot of nice stuff I can use for her party. I was able to make cookies in the shape of the number 16 as one of the snacks for her party with the cookie cutters I ordered.

Before making any plans, I got her opinion on what she wanted for her party, and it was a party at the roller rink with all the girls sleeping over. I then made reservations at the roller rink in town. Next, came the invitations for all of her closest girl friends. It didn’t cost as much as I thought it would. Refreshments, pizza and hot dogs were also part of the package, and didn’t cost very much at all. I got the house prepared for the party that was to continue after skating. I put out the cookies I had made, along with a few other snacks, and set up birthday decorations.

When I was searching the web for birthday ideas, I ordered a few other things besides the cookie cutters. Since I saved money on the roller rink deal, I decided it would be good to get the girls a few sweet sixteen favors. I found pink photo albums for the girls and gave each of them a disposable camera for party pictures. Everyone got a camera before we went to the roller rink party, but no one got an album until later that evening. They all took a few pictures at the rink and wanted to save some film for the slumber party they were having afterwards.

One of the favors was a cosmetic bag that had each girls initial on the front button. The cosmetic bags were just the beginning, I also bought manicure sets and purse mirrors for each of the girls. Each of the girls also received a very decorative favor box filled with candies. At home, her sweet sixteen party favor and presents awaited, and we took care of that as soon as we got there. There were plenty of snacks and drinks, girlie teen movies for them to watch, so they were good to go for the evening. They turned on some of their music and danced around for a while, then they took out their manicure sets and started to work on nails, and give make overs to each other. They were having a lot of fun together.

Finally, things started to quiet down and they broke out the popcorn and movies. I wanted to give them as much space as I could and not intrude on their girl time, but I got an invitation to join them for a movie. I thought that was so sweet of them to ask. They were able to watch two of the movies we rented before eyes started closing. Now it was down to just me and my daughter and she didn’t make it very long. But before she passed out, she thanked me for giving her such a great party.

When I got up in the morning the girls were already downstairs and had eaten, then straightened up everything from the party. It was really sweet of the girls to do that. They hung around with my daughter for a couple of hours, then the kids started heading for home. They told me they had a super time and they thought the favors for sweet sixteen were really cool. I like that my daughter and her friends now consider me to be a cool mom.

Planning an outside wedding wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. It wasn’t as expensive as an indoor wedding would have been. Since we had the beauty of nature all around us, it wasn’t too expensive to decorate. I checked out a lot of places to have our summer wedding and reception. I could have had our wedding ceremony on the beach, with a fun filled beach party reception, or an quisite garden party, but I chose a ceremony and reception in the park. I was surprised at all the parks available for weddings.

I wasn’t really sure where to start, so I shopped around for some much needed suggestions. If you’re going to have your ceremony outside, it’s a good idea to have an alternative plan just in case the weather turns on you. So we arranged to have a tent set up to move the ceremony into if necessary, just as a precaution.

Plan “A” was setting up a gorgeous trellis for our ceremony to be performed under and canopies for the reception. I mainly concentrated on the decorations for our wedding table and the reception tables. With the beautiful background of the park as our main décor, all I really needed besides table settings were a few extra flowers here and there. I thought artificial flowers would be best, since we didn’t want a bee invasion ruining our ceremony. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and didn’t look artificial at all. Although planning wasn’t as difficult a chore as I thought, there were quite a few things to take care of. You want to make sure you have plenty of citronella candles scattered about, and that the rest rooms are within walking distance, and make sure your frosting on your cake doesn’t melt in the heat.

As far as table décor, I found so many fantastic accessories for our reception. Each of our guest had a park bench place card holder and the centerpieces were flowers arranged around a glass globe with citronella votive candles inside. For each of our guests there were some groovy chrome bottle openers in lovely designed favor boxes, as a summer wedding invitation. One of the most decorative things on our wedding table was our exquisite wedding cake with the beautiful cake topper I ordered.

While shopping for my wedding accessories I saw this topper and couldn’t resist it. They were especially customized for the bride and groom. All I had to do was send in a head shot picture of me and my fiance and they custom made a bride and groom cake topper with our faces. How could I ask for a better wedding keepsake than that? All of our guests were so impressed with our topper, they couldn’t stop talking about it. All the wonderful accessories I ordered for our reception and wedding ceremony came from the same place, including our champagne flutes and silver cake set. You wouldn’t believe all the nice accessories you can buy online.

Well, the wedding was beautiful and the reception was just as perfect. Thank goodness the weather stayed perfect throughout the entire ceremony and reception and we never had to put plan B into action. We had a wonderful DJ that I’m sure, kept the music going long after we left for our honeymoon. There were many good comments about our beautiful wedding ceremony and fun filled reception party we had. I’m so glad I decided to go with a wedding in the park. If we should decide somewhere down the line to have a renewal wedding ceremony, I think I’d like to have it in the park again.

I turned on my computer and started ordering supplies online as I did for my wedding accessories. There you can find so many party items and great ideas if you are planning a party. So I went online and started picking out all of the groovy baby shower favors supplies and decorations I could find. I found some exquisite ideas there to work with. I found and ordered all everything I needed for our wedding decorations and right after I got them, I started decorating. I managed have everything set up as baby oriented. In front of every my little guest I putted a cute teddy bear which holded a card with there name, and every one of them had they own buggy favor box filled with candies. The tables looked so fantastic with all the decorative accessories I bought online for the shower, and my guests seemed really impressed with what I had bought. In honor of the mother to be, I ordered a chocolate cake and of course set up a buffet with different kind of snacks and candies. Especially for my niece, I covered the cake with adorable decorations and colored it with pink icing. I also picked out an adorable cake topper that were little baby building blocks. I was proud of my cake and the decorations I chose, it looked so perfect.

I found great baby shower party favors for all of my guests that were such adorable little baby bootie candles that came in their own decorative boxes. I was really impressed with the supplies I bought, and the cute little baby gifts I bought from there too. I ordered a pink baby photo album, baby blankets and an adorable pink layette set. This online buying is the best thing I had ever done before: its easy,convenient and much cheaper. All I had to do was order what I needed for my baby shower and they had just about everything I needed. I found the cutest little bingo game that was perfect for the party. There is just so many great selections for a baby shower.

My baby shower party turned out to be a great success and all my guests seemed impressed with their baby shower party favor. We had a lot of laughs together as we watched her open all the baby gifts and played silly games. One of my favorite games was filling baby bottles with a drink and giving one to each guest. Then when someone saids go, each person must drink from their baby bottle until it’s empty and the first one done wins the game. I pinned everyones baby picture on my board. Then each person had to try and match the baby with the adult. The prize went to whoever had the most matches. By the way, I also got the baby shower prizes from my favorite online site. Some of the prizes were things like candles, scented soaps and picture frames.
